ew people like change – that is a cliché, but it is also a well-proven theory. Kind of like climate change. Pope Francis, to conservatives’ dismay, has picked up the issue of climate change and will be spending a good chunk of his congressional address next week tackling it. Environmentalists, liberals and the Resource Defense Council are pleased, believing that the Pope will have the clout to promote their agendas and help them check things off of their political to-do lists at a much faster rate. However, conservatives like Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar aren’t loving the Pope’s proactive political stance on this issue. They say that climate change should only be addressed in a biblical context, and want him to focus on issues such as religious freedom and abortion. As a result, many of them are boycotting his address next week.
